Around 25,000 households in southeastern Queensland woke up without power on Monday morning after intense storm systems impacted the area, bringing wind gusts hitting 109 kilometers per hour.

Substantial Ice Stones and Widespread Destruction

Residents reported giant hailstones measuring up to 7 centimeters in particular locations. Weather authorities announced that different parts across Queensland had been affected by large hailstones.

Emergency crews were attempting to repair electricity service throughout the impacted areas, with dozens of response units working to address the numerous electricity disruptions.

Victorian Storm Challenges

At one point on yesterday, more than twenty-eight thousand electricity consumers in Victoria were lacking electricity.

Meteorological Predictions

Damp conditions were expected to linger along much of the state's eastern regions this next several days as a atmospheric system continued to draw in moisture against the coast.

The following day was predicted as the heaviest precipitation period, with continued storm activity predicted across various areas of both regions.

Safety Concern

Public health experts cautioned that there was an increased chance of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the state's northern country region, especially given the current weather patterns.
