A revitalized Medvedev won his maiden trophy for 882 days with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.

The athlete, a ex- number one, has experienced a torrid season, winning just one win at the Grand Slams and suffering a setback at the US Open.

His varied form on the tennis tour - and issues with his service game in specific - resulted in him exiting of the elite rankings and ultimately splitting with former coach his previous coach.

Currently collaborating with Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has gradually advanced in the past month - culminating in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over challenger Corentin Moutet.

It is his first trophy since the Rome competition and initial on a hard surface from spring of 2023.

The win also indicates Medvedev has secured 21 victories at twenty-one different competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I'm at a competition with my children together, so to win a trophy is really nice," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in dedication of my younger daughter her name, because the first title I won when my first daughter her name was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had lost his previous six title deciders, featuring in Halle in the past months.

The player's counter-punching play style and recurring emotional displays on the playing surface had caused commentators to doubt if his capacity to compete at the elite level was finished.

But the player has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to advance forward and perform positively, supported by an better serve.

Medvedev recovered from a break down in the opening set against the difficult Moutet, winning four of the final five points to gain the advantage.

The competitors swapped service breaks in the second set before the challenger, bidding for his initial tour championship, gained dominance to create a third set.

The opponent rescued 4 early break points in a competitive third set before Medvedev won the break to fifteen to secure the win.

Appropriately, he earned the win with a rally at the net, with the Frenchman unable to control a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
