The Popular Show Season Four Reveals the Soldiers Table

Since the launch of Campaign 4, fresh DM the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a diverse cast of personalities, and a thrilling plot including angels, evil spirits, and sinister influences growing in power within the city.

Heads-up: Spoilers for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 are included.

The Warrior Group Introduced

The third episode concluded with a major cliffhanger and presented the initial group of adventurers who will branch out from the main group to undertake their own adventure, separate from the other two tables.

The combat-focused team features the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis Willingham), Thimble (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).

Dividing the Cast

With a large ensemble, it was evident from the beginning that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.

Hence, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, intertwining the personal journeys before dividing into three separate parties: Fighters, Schemers, and Seekers.

What Defines the Warrior Group

Per the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for players who are drawn to a typically action-packed fight-heavy gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are rare.

Initially, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might look unsuited, but the developments of episode 3 demonstrate why these five characters are best suited for the warrior group.

Why They Must Go

To begin with, the team knows exactly where to go next after a violent initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.

An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose passing started the campaign’s events—exploited The Crow Keepers for his own means, invading the secret base, assaulting Thimble, and swiping all the enchanted items to auction.

The traitor then settled his liabilities and ran away to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, above the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.

Personal Motivations

Secondly, each member has a individual motive to depart Dol-Makjar:

  • The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, wants retribution.
  • Kattigan knows the region and cautions that it is a nasty location.
  • Tyranny and The cleric, having defied his house’s orders to eliminate Teor and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
  • Yet, their reputation as prominent individuals in the influential clan could enable the team access locations they normally couldn’t.
  • Moreover, The fighter swore a life debt to Wicander for his rescue and will now accompany him wherever.

Fugitives

Finally, all of them are wanted by the rulers that rule the setting for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city too risky:

  • The rogue and The hero are known criminals.
  • The strong figure and The cleric betrayed the influential house and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
  • The fighter is targeted for elimination by the clan.

This leaves them few options but to journey toward the northern region in pursuit of the traitor.

What’s Next?

From the latest episode’s post-show segment, we discover that the combat party will be absent next week, leaving the rest of the players to round up the Seekers and Schemers tables.

Audiences can anticipate discovering which players will be in which group in the season’s last Overture episode, streaming live on the upcoming Thursday.
